Skottelsalen is the new Scottish cultural centre in Bergen. Its historical roots lie in the ‘Nøstet’ area in Bergen when in the 1600’s about 8% of the population where from Scotland. This community was an integral part of industrial and cultural Bergen and its legacy can still be found today. Our aim is to develop these roots and build on the existing cultural and business connections between Scotland and Norway. The Scottish Hall, Skottesalen, is currently under construction and when finished, will provide us with a culture centre as well as function suites that can be used as a ‘selskapslokale’. Kindest regards and we look forward to welcoming you to Skottesalen in the near future. | |
